To weigh or not to weigh?

This is a question I'm asked frequently. My answer is always the same- " it depends". That is, it depends on YOU! We are not one size fits all so we have to know thyself and that takes trial and error. For example if weighing-in each day or week is frustrating because you need continuous reinforcement & quick results then it makes sense to have longer periods of time in between the weigh-ins. Big weight loss or daily changes have mostly to do with fluid retention not real weight loss. Thus, if you are comfortable with a more long term vision for your weight loss and are not bothered by frequent ups and downs then a daily or weekly weigh-in will allow a closer check on your caloric intake relative to your physical activity.

A weight loss goal suggested by the experts, is 1 to 2 pounds per week, which for most will be doable when trying to hit an established target weight loss!
